FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • A thorough consultation will initially be conducted to determine if you are a good candidate for the treatment.
    Once a cleanse and prepping of the skin is complete, your eyes will be protected with safety goggles or eye shields. A cool gel will then be applied to the area being treated. Then, a chilled applicator is placed on the skin to deliver the light energy. Some areas on the skin will be more sensitive than others, however most clients report the sensation feels like a “warm flick” or “rubber band snap” to the skin. The treatment will take 15 to 60 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.

  • You can expect redness and heat in the skin for a few hours following the procedure. Mild swelling can occur the following day. It’s also normal for your skin to feel rough like sandpaper for a few days while your skin heals.

  • Are there contraindications? 

    Do not receive a MOXI or BBL skin treatment if you:

    • have been tanning in sun or sunbeds 

    • Have used fake tans 2 weeks prior

    • are on strong antibiotics, using Retin-A or bleaching cream

    • have a history of melanoma or have active skin infections

    • if you have a history of herpes(coldsores) outbreaks, we recommend seeing your General Practitioner prior to treatment for anti-viral medication, to take on the day of the treatment to prevent an outbreak from occurring.
