Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments designed to restore lost volume, enhance facial contours, and soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles. At Dermal Glow, we provide expert filler treatments across our clinics in Ōhope, Pāpāmoa, and Bethlehem, helping you achieve a refreshed and balanced look that feels naturally you.
Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance found in the skin that helps maintain hydration, structure, and elasticity. As we age, our natural levels of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid gradually decline, leading to volume loss, skin laxity, and changes in facial shape. Dermal fillers help replenish this lost volume, creating a youthful appearance while maintaining your natural features.
Popular Treatment Areas
Dermal fillers are highly versatile and can be used to address various concerns:
Cheek Fillers: Restore volume to the cheeks and define cheekbones for a subtle lift.
Lip Fillers: Enhance, define, and hydrate the lips for a natural, plump look.
Nasolabial Folds: Soften the "smile lines" that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth.
Marionette Lines: Smooth the lines that run downwards from the corners of the mouth.
Chin & Jawline Fillers: Improve definition and support facial contours for better symmetry
At Dermal Glow, we believe the best filler treatments are the ones that don't look obvious. Our approach focuses on subtle enhancement, facial harmony, and long-term skin support, helping you look refreshed, confident, and naturally you.
Every treatment begins with a comprehensive consultation to assess your facial structure, discuss your goals, and create a personalised treatment plan tailored specifically to you.
At Dermal Glow we use premium hyaluronic acid fillers to ensure safe, long-lasting, and beautiful results. During your consultation at our Tauranga or Whakatane clinic, we will select the best product for your specific goals.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The longevity of fillers depends on the product used and the area treated. Generally, lip fillers last 6–12 months, while fillers in more structural areas like the cheeks or jawline can last 12–24 months.
-
Most of the fillers we use contain lidocaine (a local anesthetic) to ensure the procedure is as comfortable as possible. We also offer topical numbing cream or dental blocks for more sensitive areas like the lips.
-
At Dermal Glow, our signature approach is 'subtle and sophisticated.' We specialise in natural-looking results that enhance your existing features rather than changing them. Our medical team in Whakatane and Tauranga use precise techniques to ensure you look refreshed and well-rested—never 'frozen' or overfilled. Most people won't know you’ve had a treatment; they’ll just notice your healthy, radiant glow.
-
Most clients can return to work immediately. However, you should expect some swelling and potential bruising for 24–72 hours. We recommend booking your treatment at least 2 weeks before any major events.
-
Botox® (anti-wrinkle injections) works by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles. Dermal fillers work by adding volume to "fill in" lines or restore lost structure. Often, the best results come from combining both treatments.
-
Absolutely! In fact, combining treatments often delivers the most comprehensive results. While anti-wrinkle injections relax the muscles that cause lines, bio-stimulators like Rejuran® or Profhilo® improve the actual quality and hydration of your skin. During your consultation, we can create a bespoke 'Skin Journey' that layers these treatments to address both structural aging and surface texture for a total rejuvenation.
