Botox® is a well-established treatment used globally for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It works by precisely targeting the muscles responsible for expression lines, providing a smooth and rejuvenated look.
Xeomin® is a highly purified form of botulinum toxin. Unlike some other options, Xeomin® is unique in that it doesn’t contain "complexing proteins." This "naked" formulation may reduce the risk of developing resistance to the treatment over time, making it an excellent choice for long-term maintenance.

The following are normal side effects and typically resolve within a few days:
•Mild swelling or temporary lumps (usually subside within 1-2 days)
•Minor bruising or redness at the injection site

•A mild headache (paracetamol can be taken if required)
Are there more severe complications?
While rare, more severe complications can include significant pain, severe swelling, allergic reactions, or visual disturbances like eyelid droop. If you experience any of these, please contact Dermal Glow immediately or seek medical attention if it is outside of business hours.

You will typically start to see the effects within 3 to 5 days, with the full result visible at the 14-day mark. We recommend waiting the full two weeks before assessing your final look.

On average, results last between 3 and 4 months. However, this can vary depending on your metabolism, the area treated, and the dose administered. Many clients find that with regular treatments, the muscles "learn" to relax, and results may last slightly longer over time.

Most clients describe the sensation as a tiny pinch or a "mosquito bite." The needles used are extremely fine, and the procedure is very quick, usually taking only 10–15 minutes. No downtime or anesthetic is typically required.

The number of units required varies significantly from person to person based on muscle strength and the desired result. As a general guide:
•Frown lines: 15–25 units
•Forehead lines: 5–15 units
•Crow’s feet: 6–15 units per side

To minimise the risk of bruising, we recommend avoiding blood-thinning supplements like fish oil, Vitamin E, and anti-inflammatories (like Ibuprofen) for 3–5 days before your treatment. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Aftercare Instructions for Botulinum Toxin anti-wrinkle injections
To ensure the best results and minimise the risk of product spread, please follow these guidelines:
Avoid lying flat for the first 4 hours after your appointment.
Do not rub or apply pressure to the treated areas for at least 4 hours.
Skip the gym: Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, spas, and excessive alcohol for the first 24 hours.
Facials: Avoid face-down massages or facials for 48 hours.
Makeup: Mineral makeup may be applied gently after 4 hours.
Advanced skin treatments: Avoid heat related skin treatments for two weeks such as lasers or Radio Frequency.
XEOMIN® is a Prescription Medicine containing 50, 100 units of incobotulinumtoxinA, purified Botulinum toxin type A complex for injection. It is used for the treatment of frown lines on the forehead, lateral periorbital lines and horizontal forehead lines in adults. It should be administered only by trained medical professionals. Talk to your specialist about the benefits/risks of this procedure in appearance medicine. Xeomin® treatment lasts about four months and further courses of treatment may be necessary.Cautions: People receiving blood thinning medicines, care at the proposed injection sites, pregnancy and lactation.
