ClearV is an industry leader for treating blood vessels and vascular lesions. The ClearV effectively addresses vascular lesions, broken blood vessels, capillaries, spider veins, and redness with powerful yet comfortable results and minimal recovery.
This system uses a 1064nm wavelength to precisely target and eliminate unwanted veins within the skin, enhancing clarity and refining overall skin appearance. The laser works by selectively heating targeted veins, which absorbs the red colour in blood (oxyhemoglobin) for superior clinical results.
What Can the Clear V Vascular Laser Treat?
- Capillaries
- Spider veins
- Blue veins around the eyes
- Cherry angiomas
- Rosacea
- Vascular lesions, including port wine stains
Note: The Clear V is not intended for deep leg veins, reticular veins, or varicose veins, which may require specialized treatment.
Visible capillaries and vessels commonly appear on the face or legs and can result from various factors such as rosacea, aging, genetics, sun exposure, or lifestyle. Normally, capillary walls are highly elastic, but they can lose their ability to contract, leading them to become enlarged and visible.
Vascular lasers target these vessels by selectively focusing on hemoglobin. The Clear V emits a high-power laser beam that targets blood vessels without impacting surrounding tissues. The laser’s energy creates a localized blockage in the vessel walls, reducing blood flow to the area and encouraging the body to naturally clear the damaged vessels. In many cases, the visual clearance can be seen immediately, depending on the size of the vessels.
How Does Clear V Differ from BBL Treatments?
Both the Clear V and BBL devices can effectively target unwanted vessels, though they use different wavelengths based on vessel size, colour, and depth. BBL (Broad Band Light) employs wavelengths like 590nm, 560nm, or 515nm to treat superficial redness and vessels. In contrast, the Clear V’s 1064nm laser penetrates deeper, ideal for larger, more rooted vessels.
What is involved in the treatment?
A thorough consultation will initially be conducted to determine if you are a good candidate for the treatment.
Once a cleanse and prepping of the skin is complete, your eyes will be protected with safety goggles or eye shields. A cool gel will then be applied to the area being treated. Then, a chilled applicator is placed on the skin to deliver the light energy. Some areas on the skin will be more sensitive than others, however most clients report the sensation feels like a “warm flick” or “rubber band snap” to the skin. The treatment will take 15 to 60 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.
What happens after my treatment?
It is very important to avoid direct sun exposure 30 days prior and 30 days after your treatment. In some cases, a topical serum to inhibit the production of melanin is required to ensure your skin is in optimal condition to treat. Fake tan cannot be used three weeks before treatment otherwise light can be attracted to it and burning can occur.
Initially after the treatment you may experience some redness and a warmth to the skin, some clients describe this sensation like a mild sunburn, this generally resolves in a few hours. In most cases you are able to apply makeup and resume most of your activities immediately. However, you must avoid excessive exercise, hot showers or saunas and direct sun exposure.
With BBL Corrective and Forever Young, for any pigmented lesions, you will see a darkening of the treated area followed by fading and some flaking off at a later stage, 7-10 days after for face and 14-21 days for body. Once this stage has completed your skin will feel smoother, pores will be less noticeable, and sunspots and uneven pigmentation will fade. Results depend on individual conditions, number of treatments and the area being treated. Your treatment course and results will be explained to you on consultation.
How many treatments do I need?
The number of treatments needed and how your result last varies on each individual. This can depend on a range of factors such as; skin condition, time spent outdoors, hormonal medications and medical conditions.
At your initial consultation a personalised treatment plan will be provided, however this can change depending on your skin response to the treatment.
Many patients get a satisfactory improvement just after 1-2 treatments. However, with stubborn skin conditions such as sun spots, rosacea and acne, a course of treatments from 3-6 may be needed. Length in-between treatments depends on the condition being treated. For example: Pigment 4-6 weeks, for rosacea and acne 2-3 weeks.
For optimal results and to avoid the ageing process, it is recommended to maintain results with Forever Young BBL every three months.
How does it work?
BBL sends light energy which gets converted into heat when reaching top layers of the skin, this gently heats the skins tissue. The heat energy is attracted and absorbed to different colours in the skin such as melanin (brown and pigment spots) and reds (fine broken blood vessels and papules)
The light then damages the unwanted concerns, removing it from the skin to its natural healthy condition. This results in the skin achieving even colour, refined texture and giving a more youthful appearance. BBL Forever clear adds on an extra step at the start with a 415nm filter to kill off the bacteria causing acne.
